WAG: Dog-Friendly Product Photography in Our Melbourne Studio

We photographed WAG’s latest product releases in our Cheltenham studio—clean packshots, simple hero scenes, and lifestyle moments with dogs. The aim was fast, consistent assets for PDPs, socials, email, and retail.

Creative Direction & Brand Fit

WAG is bright, clean, and outdoorsy. We kept sets simple and warm so packaging colours stayed accurate. We mixed product-only frames with interaction shots (hands, dogs) to show scale and real use.

Setup 1: E-commerce Packshots (On White)

Goal: consistent, shoppable images across the range.

How we shot it

• Seamless matte white. Even top light for smooth pouch surfaces.
• Diffusion scrim to tame glare; black flags to give edges shape.
• Front-of-pack hero, back-of-pack, and detail crops.
• Tethered capture (Capture One/Lightroom) for live approvals and naming.

Setup 2: Lifestyle With Dogs (Studio-Friendly)

Goal: add personality and show size/usage.

Approach

• Neutral backdrop so the dog and pack pop.
• Handler just off-camera; clear cues for sit/eyes/up.
• Short sets with breaks to keep energy calm.

• Puppy eyeing a jerky stick; pack visible in frame
• Bernese Mountain Dog reaching up while the handler holds jerky

Setup 3: Product Families, Bundles & Hero

Goal: assets for promos, bundles, and email banners.

Approach

• Group shots for seasonal/kit SKUs (Christmas tote bundle).
• Simple props that support the use case (walks, rewards).
• Wider compositions with negative space for headlines.
